Description

Stand Up Mikado is a version of the old and much-loved game of pick up sticks. This set has 42 coloured wooden sticks and has a ring that contains them. The sticks are all made to be the same length and the bright colours will delight any child or adult too. A fun game for people of ages, Mikado actually originates in Europe, Hungary specifically where it is Marokko. The name Mikado is an old Japanese term for the Japanese Emperor which is the highest scoring stick in the game (the blue).

As you can see when you buy this game you get;

a)42 beautifully coloured sticks
b)A wooden ring
c)Instructions and scoring

The idea of the game is that the sticks are held together so that they are all touching a table or the ground and the player lets them go so that they fall. This creates a circle of sticks fallen on top of each other in some cases. Players take it in turns to pick up one stick but they are not let to touch or move any other. They can do this with one hand or of you have a special stick you can use that a way to help, either to pick up another or to use a throw or flick. A player’s turn only ends when they have a fault called. Then it is the next player’s turn. After five rounds or less, the person with the best score is declared the winner. Each stick has a certain value.

With our well made and attractive wooden set you can have countless hours of fun as a family, in the home, outside and encourage children to learn the strategy and better fine motor control. This game should be a part of every household so why not pick up our set and get playing!
